a little about me

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, not too far from Bensonhurst and the home of Saturday Night Fever. In those days Brooklyn was a tough place, filled with cugines, cuginettes and daddy’s caddies driving up and down the borough blocks. I never really fit in. And while I can appreciate disco now, in those days I needed meaning, I needed rock music.
Raised by a single mom, I learned the value of hard work growing up in her beauty parlor. I would run errands for the old ladies sitting under the hair dryers. Bringing them coffee, tuna sandwiches and a smile. And when I collected enough change, I would get my pinball fix and a slice of pizza. I was lucky enough to grow up near Di Fara Pizza on Avenue J.
Graduating with a BFA from Brooklyn College, painting and sculpture were my life. After graduation I realized no one was hiring clay sculptors so I took my creativity in a new direction and walked into the world of advertising.
Creativity breathes life into a world of endless possibilities that is limited only by our lack of imagination

rebranding a movement
In 2000, I wanted to rebrand the gay rights movement. At that time, no one was talking about the most important, game changing issue facing the gay community: the freedom to marry. So a few friends and I decided to form The Wedding Party. Our mission was to put faces to the issue, and bring those faces into people’s living rooms. Part activists, part experiential marketers, we produced four successful wedding events kicking off the Gay Pride Parade in NYC. We also created the first NYC Same-Sex Wedding Expo in the Jacob Javitz Center. Our events drew thousands of people and was covered by almost every major news channel in the U.S. as well as press from around the world.
